This unique cabinet was found also on an online auction and once again has the same repair process as the projects before it. The difference with this cabinet repair was the amount of water damage the cabinet had sustained to the MDF panels. As seen in the photos, water damage to the panels are to the sides and bottom of the metal control panel, lower left/right/bottom sections of the panels by the toe kick. Further review of the damaged MDF found there was enough good material left and instead of replacing the MDF damage sections, they were shaved off and repaired. Plenty of epoxy glue strengthen sections while smart use of durable edging tape restored the structural integrity of the cabinet.
Another key difference to this project was the installation of a 43" flat screen TV into the cabinet. Due to the design of the original cabinet, I was able to modify the cabinet to house the large TV in a vertical position. This enabled a large 4:3 aspect ratio in a vertical and horizontal perspective just like the original arcades. So the result is a horizontal screen equivalent to a 26" CRT and the same or larger size screen in the vertical position. Advance software with a decent GPU handle the CRT scan line emulation/surrounding bezel for arcade gaming immersion.
The photos below tell the story how it was done.
