Development of the TVP design

Early stages of the Twin Vertical Plate design

Transferred scaled CAD drawing to paper and applied to balsa wood for initial mock-up of chassis design. Set up, in rough, and mounted components to the TVP. Tested weight distribution, clearances & connections of components. The TVP design underwent revisions prior to finalising the design pictured above.

    Further revision of the design

    Tweaking the design

    Revised design of the TVP was undertaken. Tested the weight distribution, clearances & connections of components after the small adjustments had been made. Started to test & integrate components from 1/5 scale trucks with upgrades.

      CNC Machining

      TVP design now finalised, the bulk of the cutting was performed by laser prior to the CNC machining. CNC performed the finer details of the TVP design.

        Here is a detailed look at the TVP design, with work starting on the assembly & test fitment of components.

          Assembly of the centre differential to the TVP

          Pictured below is the centre differential mount design. This set-up houses the centre differential and motor while containing the batteries to the front section of the TVP.
